The World’s Largest Energy From Waste Facility – 200 MW
The landmark Warsan Waste Management Company (WWMC) project is being billed as the World’s Largest Energy From Waste Facility to be constructed to date with project cost in excess of USD1 BN.
WWMC will help achieve Dubai’s strategic vision of becoming the World’s Most Sustainable City by supporting the Pillars of Environmental Protection.Setting A New Benchmark – The facility is under a 35-year concession period with Dubai Municipality. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will buy electricity from WWMC for next 35 years.
The facility is being build and will commence commercial operations by June 2024 in the Warsan area, Dubai. The Facility will process 1.9 million tonnes of municipal solid waste per year to produce approximately 200 MW electricity, powering 135,000 homes which is roughly 2% annual electricity consumption in Dubai.
